This year, that especially rings true for legendary songstress Mariah Carey, who received a heartfelt token of affection from her hubby Nick Cannon.
“Nah, [it won’t be new shoes or a bag] – she gets all that stuff,” he recently told Life & Style. “It has to be more of a thoughtful thing; I have to put some thought into it. It will be something small; it probably won’t be a monetary thing.”
As for country star Miranda Lambert, she got something quite extravagant from her hubby, Blake Shelton. The Voice coach “designed a $20,000 gold necklace with 20 charms on it, engraved with the names of her dogs,” a source close to Blake revealed to Life & Style. “It's the most thoughtful gift. He designed it for her, and laughed he hoped it wasn’t too heavy because she has so many pets."
And also receiving some bling this year is Hilary Duff’s sister, Haylie.
The former Disney star had son Luca in tow while she browsed through pricey baubles inside XIV Karats in Beverly Hills.
“She looked at Indian-style bracelets for a long time and picked a really pretty one out — it was loaded with diamonds and cost $18,000!” an insider revealed. “She had it wrapped and said it was for her sister.”
But what about some famous kids? Supermodel Miranda Kerr says she and hubby Orlando Bloom planned to give their 2-year-old tot, Flynn, a mini-piano.
"There were a whole bunch of different musical instruments around, a whole bunch of toys - different things that he could have gone to - and the first thing he went for was this little piano... and he sat right down and started, like, playing [it]," Miranda said of her son’s present. “And this year, since Flynn is a little bit older, it's going to be so nice to just see the way that he gets excited about Christmas."
