Foto: AP Chanel’s head honcho, Karl Lagerfeld, has never been one to filter his comments — even when it comes to the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and her family.
Though Lagerfeld, 79, is known for his brutally honest comments about the style of the stars, he recently revealed to Grazia that he thinks Carole Middleton, the mother of Kate and Pippa, is “very sexy — sexier than the daughters.” He then continued to praise the Duchess, herself, by saying, “Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties.”
But when it came to Kate’s fashion-forward sister, Pippa, 29, Karl changed his tune. “Her sister struggles,” he says of Pippa. "I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back."
Later, Lagerfeld clarified to Grazia, saying, "I didn't mean that! I only meant I don't think her makeup is right. She has a roundish face and round eyes and she should pick another makeup for the eyes."
