Foto: Cosmoplitan MagazineFormer Dancing with the Stars choreographer, Julianne Hough, opened up about her abuse in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.
According to Hough, she was taken advantage of as a child while studying dance at London’s Italia Conti Academy of Arts.
"While I was in London, I was abused, mentally, physically, everything," she revealed. Julianne says the abuse got worse "when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl."
She added: "I was told if I ever went back to the United States, three things were going to happen…One: I was going to amount to nothing. Two: I was going to work at Whataburger. And three: I was going to end up a slut. So, it was like, I can’t go back. I have to be this person.”
Julianne said her experience helped her connect with the character she played in the new film, Safe Haven, who is also an abuse victim.
While on set Julianne said she "went from bawling to containing to laughing to crying again." “I think it was the most therapeutic moment of my life,” she also revealed.
