Rivers received a lot of criticism after taking a jab at Rihanna’s interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter.
The 79-year-old comedian/host tweeted on August 24th: “Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it's MY turn to slap her."
Rihanna didn’t keep quiet and responded: "@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you're old huh?" She added: "Slap on some diapers."
Fans-who were upset about Joan’s gesture reacted online with comments such as: "That was really ignorant what Joan Rivers said. People act like domestic violence is a joke when it's not!"
Last night (August 27), Kelly Osbourne also put in her two cents about the controversy, tweeting: "W/ the greatest of respect 2 a young lady of whom I love please get a sense of humor @Joan_Rivers paved the way 4 all us opinionated ladies!"
