(Dis)connected tells the story of four teens, played by Jordan Calloway, Ana Coto, Lindsey Morgan and Justin Preston, who meet and develop relationships on a website.
After its Oct. 10 premiere, Vinny, along with SuChin Pak and Dan Savage, will host a half-hour MTV News special that will focus on talking with the in-studio audience as well as online viewers about the key themes in the film, such as sexuality, relationships, trust and oversharing in a digital world.
"I want to get involved because I can relate," says Vinny. "This is about young people on social media and the different problems they have. I've been there, and I'm still there."
The film is part of MTV's A Thin Line campaign (www.athinline.org), which helps America's youth to stop the spread of online bullying.
