Fast forward to 2013, and the entertainer still has that infamous Grammys number. But where does she keep it?
“I have that at home,” she says in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “The other day, my housekeeper put it on a mannequin in my spa, where I get my hair and makeup done. She sent me a picture. She was like, ‘You like this dress?’ Um, yeah, but I don’t know if I like it out in the house!”
The dress, which was designed by Donatella Versace, was said to have made both the brand and J.Lo household names following the big Feb. 23, 2000 event.
“It didn’t seem that out there to me,” the former American Idol judge has said about the risqué outfit. “It was a good-looking dress. I had no idea it was going to become such a big deal.”
Since wearing the gown, Jennifer’s career skyrocketed. From fashion and film to music and touring, the 43-year-old is aware of her hectic schedule - but finds a way to keep her four-year-old twins, Max and Emme, grounded.
And if you believe this diva has a team of people doing everything for her, think again.
“I make [travel] as simple and as beautiful as I can because my life is kind of big,” she says. “So I pack my luggage, or dress myself, or comb my kids’ hair, pick up their clothes – that makes our life beautiful, you know? There’s something very elegant in that.”
